Persistence 10″ x 20″ original canvas

It had been months since I had done a paint pouring project, so, as per usual when it’s been a long time since I did paint pouring, I was a little nervous.  To combat that nervousness, I used some of my favorite colors: blue, green, purple, and a bright magenta. Plus, I know I can always start over, AND I’ve learned sometimes to let something sit as I might feel differently about it after some time.  Boy, did I struggle with this piece! I wasn’t happy with the first version as it felt too dark and psychedelic.  So, I swiped, as that almost creates some gorgeous cells.  The resulting piece had a lot of white at one end, but was still too dark (in my opinion) for 2/3 of it.  So, I added more color (especially the bright magenta) and swiped again.  This one wasn’t bad, but there was an odd line down the middle because I had swiped outward toward both ends from the middle.  Sigh.  I added more white at the bottom, and swiped the entire length of the canvas.  Finally, I was satisfied! (You can see the progression in the image; first at the top, and the progression moves toward the bottom.) I’m not sure if the title comes from me and my being persistent or this particular art piece not letting me give up!
