Table looms as well as heavy floor looms are utilized by our weavers in the production of rag rugs, looper rugs and selvedge rugs. Pieces of materials are shredded and woven through strands of fabric with the use of shuttles. Our weft material is usually cotton in the form of looper clips, sheet strips and selvedge while the warp consists of cotton/poly.
Cotton looper clips derived from the sock weaving process are dyed with randomly assigned application resulting in a beautiful arrangement of color patterns. Selvedge material derived from industrial looms form interesting contrasts. Rags are also shredded and united to form a continuous weft. Rug width runs up to 36” with an indeterminate length based on requests.
Prices vary according to the types and amount of material.
